Traders in Ndhiwa can now smile after
a new Foundation which seeks to loan them is launched. Goye Foundation, a
Christian-based organization gives loans to interested prospective business
persons at negotiable interest rates.
According to the Foundation’s Director, Bishop
Samwel Orieny, no collateral is needed before an applicant is granted a loan.
The applicant only needs to register and buy shares to qualify for a loan which
is his/her shares multiplied by three. The aim of this project is to help small
scale businesses to grow by availing ready loans with relaxed conditions.
Addressing Ndhiwa citizen voices
reporters in his office last Wednesday, Bishop Orieny called on members of the
community to take up the opportunity and act swiftly against poverty using these
friendly loan products.
In his statement, the bishop said “The
organization would soon become a micro-finance institution to reach out to many
people possibly the whole HomaBay County. Currently, the foundation operates in
Ndhiwa, Sori, and Homa-bay town.”
“‘We are capable of employing other
citizens since this project is expanding and is aiming at benefiting community
members,” added Bishop Orieny.
