The residents have continuously complained of the danger
posed on them by the cables but no one in particular has respond to their call.
The electricity cables running across this road were not hoisted high enough to
allow big tracks use the road. In most cases, the large trucks have been forced
to divert from the road to the neighbouring farms to avoid the cables.
The prolonged blackout is now affecting the juakali sector
at the centre, an activity that has employed a number of youths in the region. Speaking to NCV reporter, residents here say
women selling vegetable right below these lines stand the risk of being
electrocuted one day suppose a truck hits on this cable abruptly.
This may sound like a small matter at the moment but let it
happen one evening and Kenyan flags will be hoisted half the poles as always.
Let the concern company take its mandate with the seriousness it deserves.
